Three Portland men are behind bars after trying to use fake prescriptions to buy several codeine cough syrup at several drug stores in Ada County.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says investigators began investigating the men Tuesday after a Boise-area pharmacist called to report he had received a fake prescription.

Detectives were able to trace the men across 6 drug stores, eventually arresting them in Meridian.

They also found a computer and printer in the car that the men were using to make the fake prescriptions.

The men, Devontae Ahmed, Abdullhi Abdulkadir, and Fuad Mohamed, all face felony charges for computer crime, forgery, controlled substance by deception and more.
