( This is my opinion, so it’s fine with me if you disagree. )
I don’t think I have any business sticking my nose in Saeed and Naghmeh Abedini’s marriage.
We (670 KBOI) did report Naghmeh’s accusations of abuse and I do find that compelling, as Saeed is just out of prison in Iran to a woman who has advocated for his release all over the country. I think those actions were selfless and show extreme character and applaud her for doing so, in light of her accusations of abuse.
However, the two are separated and are working on fixing their marriage. What more do you need to report?
I found myself wondering recently, why are news organizations continuing to follow the relationship between these two people?
Is it because they have a high profile? Is it because they are religious?
I just don’t care for that brand of journalism.
