The Grammy's were on last night. And I actually enjoyed them, of course I missed the last hour because I have to get up super early for work.
To start things off, ACDC was amazing. They opened the show perfectly and really got me excited for what was going to happen next.
Then Ed Sheeran sang my current favorite song "Thinking Out Loud", which was absolutely terrific.
Annie Lennox later took the stage and she stole the show, she was by far the best of the night.
But there were moments that were just terrible, like Madonna. I think she's in her 50s and although she had a great voice, her outfit was way too much. It was like watching my mom dance around in a leotard. No one wants to see that.
Then Paul McCartney sang with Rhianna and Kanye West. Ugh. The entire time McCartney just stood there with a guitar and when he did mouth words nothing was coming out, so I'm pretty sure his mic was off. Rhianna and Kanye didn't even give him a guitar solo or a chance to sing, it was all about them. That upset me a lot. McCartney is a Beatle, a legend, and great performer, but let's not let him do anything when he gets on stage. It didn't help that the song was terrible too.
When it came to the awards I was happy that Sam Smith won but he didn't have to win everything. But he was crying on stage and seemed very happy and humble, so overall I think he deserved it. And Beck won a couple of awards too, not really sure who he is, but that's okay. I heard some of his music online and it was good.
Overall, the award show was great. I had moments of disappointment, but I seem to have that all the time anyway on award shows.
