According to Ada County elections officials, voter registration is setting records.
The Idaho Statesman reports, in 2020, Ada county had about 321,000 registered voters, including people who registered on Election Day.
As of Monday, Ada county had already exceeded that number with nearly 6,000 people registering to vote during early voting.
Plus, Ada county typically sees about 20,000 new registrations on Election Day.
These late registrants could raise the number of registered voters to nearly 350,000.
Ada county set a record for number of ballots cast in 2020, with over 260,000 cast.
As of Monday, Ada county voters had already cast over 130,000 votes in early voting.
Ada County Clerk Trent Tripple estimated turnout this election would be well over 80% of registered voters.
