Boise Parks and Recreation replacing damaged playground at Castle Hills Park

Boise Parks and Recreation is replacing the old playground at Castle Hills Park that was damaged by a fire.

Following extensive damage from a large playground fire in February 2024, Boise Parks and Recreation removed the main playground structure at Castle Hills Park.

According to Parks and Recreation, they have fenced off the area where the new playground will be as they prepare to start the construction of the new enhanced playground.

The community helped select a new playground design that is engaging, inclusive, and provides an accessible experience for everyone who visits Castle Hills Park.

LuckyDog Recreation came up with what was the preferred design, winning 54.6% of the vote.

More than 1,500 community members participated in the survey and provided input on their preferred design option.

The new playground’s theme will include trees, and butterfly elements and will be accessible for all kids.
