Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane announced ballots cast in early voting and absentee for the Nov. 5 General Election surpassed the total ballots cast statewide in the May 21, 2024 primary.
CBS2 reports, as of Wednesday morning, 293,443 ballots were cast in the Idaho 2024 General Election.
Of the ballots cast in early voting and absentee, 63 percent were registered Republican, 21 percent unaffiliated, and 16 percent Democratic.
There have been 155,113 ballots cast during early voting, and 138,330 absentee ballots were returned to Elections offices with a return rate of 73 percent.
Voters who requested absentee ballots should return them to their county elections office or use an official ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5 because it is now too late to mail absentee ballots.
