Meridian residents voiced their concerns at the Meridian Public Library board meeting Wednesday night over an effort to remove some books that some are calling pornographic and explicit.
Idaho Liberty Dogs, a conservative group, said the library was asked to put what it calls age-inappropriate books away from the reach of children.
Liberty Dogs identified several books that it was targeting: “Gender Queer: a Memoir,” “Sex is a Funny Word: A book about Bodies, Feelings, and You,” “Two Boys Kissing” and “Big Hard Sex Criminals.”
CBS 2 News reports, no decision was made by the board and most of the crowd members left the meeting after the public testimony window was over.
