On Monday afternoon before 1:45 p.m. fire crews responded to a structure fire at the Idaho Youth Ranch on Irving Street.
Idaho Youth CEO, Scott Curtis said the fire started in a cardboard box in the outdoor storage area and then spread to the side of the building.
A lot of donations were damaged in the fire and could cause a major setback in its thrift store operations.
“The thrift stores are huge, and so for us, tomorrow it’s really about assessing what’s happened here and looking at how we can get back up to full operations as quickly as possible because those funds are really needed for the program,” Curtis said.
Nearly 13 engines, three ladder trucks, three command officers, one rehab unit, Ada County Paramedics and Boise Police were on scene.
According to Curtis, 125 workers were at the warehouse when the fire started, but there were no reported injuries.
Two firefighters were treated for injuries. One firefighter was taken to the hospital, and another was treated on site.
Boise Fire said crews will likely be on scene through Tuesday morning working this fire and making sure it’s safe.
Irving Street is closed to all traffic between Orchard and Curtis roads.
