CBS2 — A student at Crossroads Middle School suffered non-life-threatening injuries after they were stabbed during a fight on Monday.
Meridian Police says officers were called to the school at about noon and after one of the students was stabbed in the leg by another student.
The suspect, who was not identified due to their age, was taken into custody and will be charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor possession of a weapon on school property.
The school’s principal wrote the following letter to parents in response to the incident.
“I write to inform you of an unfortunate event that took place this morning at Crossroads Middle School where two students were involved in an altercation involving a knife,” the note states. “The student involved has been apprehended, medical attention is being provided and the school building is secure as we have implemented all of our safety protocols. We ask our Crossroads Middle School family to remain respectful during this challenging time and keep the student receiving medical attention in your thoughts.”
