A stronger internet connection for the community could be coming to Eagle.
The city on Monday said it’s currently gauging the interest in a community-owned fiber broadband network.
CBS2 reports Eagle Mayor Jason Pierce said broadband internet is an essential service and public utility and he said a community-owned fiber infrastructure will increase choice, competition, and provide a more reliable service.
The town of Eagle said the network would be more affordable and accessible.
It’s unclear how much the network would cost, but the mayor says taxes would not be increased.
