Fruitland PD asks for help Identifying cars, people in Michael Vaughan case

Fruitland police are asking for help in identifying cars and people in case of the missing five-year-old boy Michael Vaughan.

“We continue to discover vehicles and individuals that we cannot identify,” Fruitland PD said in a Facebook post on Friday. “We are seeking the public’s assistance.”

Fruitland PD wants help identifying the driver of a 2016-2020 white Honda Pilot that was seen leaving SW 8th st. at around 6:47 p.m. on July 27th. They also are looking for the driver of a 2010-2011 blue Dodge Avenger which left that area but turned right and headed down South Whitely Drive.

CBS2 report they’re asking for help identifying two other people seen in that area. The first is a man with dark hair and facial hair wearing dark shorts and no shirt. He was seen jogging in the area. The second is a man with dark hair wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts, seen walking.

Police say these people aren’t persons of interest, but they could help police better understand what happened that night.

“We are encouraged by the fact that one of these individuals described above could help us bring Michael home safely,” Fruitland PD says. “Recently, a witness brought forth some more vehicle information that could prove to be very helpful with the timeline.”

The reward for information leading to Michael’s safe return is now at $40,000, thanks to anonymous donations.
