St Luke’s pausing some surgeries and procedures

Much like we saw in 2020, as Covid-19 cases increase, St Luke’s Health System is pausing some surgeries and procedures.

St. Luke’s says due to sustained high patient volumes in its medical centers and significant and increasing COVID-19 activity resulting in hospitalization, they will temporarily pause certain elective surgeries and procedures that require an overnight hospital stay.

In a press release, St Luke’s says reactivating this approach utilized earlier in the pandemic assists in managing volumes and resources.

The pause does not impact elective outpatient surgeries or procedures that do not require an overnight hospital stay.

St. Luke’s says they’ll continue to monitor their capacity for care and adjust as appropriate.
