We saw plenty of smoke in the air over the weekend, and thunderstorms on Saturday started more than 70 fires north of Boise.
The fires are burning in the Nez Perce-Clearwater Forests. As fires grow in size, incident management teams are ordered to manage the fires.
Fire managers from the Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, Idaho Department of Lands, Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association and Nez Perce Tribe are working closely together.
The fire season in Idaho now seems to be going full tilt. As we have been reporting, firefighters are battling several large fires including the Dixie and Jumbo Fires burning southeast of Grangeville.
