Highway 95 north of Riggins is currently blocked in both directions due to a mudslide.
Idaho State Police says an eight-mile stretch of the highway is blocked between milepost 196 and 204. There’s no word yet on how long the highway could be blocked.
CBS 2 News reports, the stretch of highway near Riggins is notorious for slides. Almost one year ago, a massive rock slide spilled onto the roadway causing lengthy closures.
Drivers are encouraged to use an alternative route.
