Officials ask visitors to clean up after visiting Boise National Forest

The Boise National Forest has done some serious cleaning at Kirkham Hot Springs, which has experienced a big increase in visitors over the past year.

Last month, forest officials say they found a “disturbing” situation inside a restroom — full of all kinds of trash.

To help with all the trash, officials have placed two dumpsters on site.

Terre Pearson-Ramirez, is the acting Lowman District Ranger and tells CBS 2 News, they appreciate the community for stepping in to pick up trash and help manage the situation.

Visitors are still encouraged to pack garbage out, and be responsible and respectful of others while exploring the Boise National Forest.
