As Idaho moves into the final phase of reopening, Valley Regional Transit will go back to normal operations.
CBS2 reports starting Monday, June 15th, Valley Regional Transit will start collecting fares for the ValleyRide bus service, as well as ACCESS paratransit service. In addition, there will be no more restrictions on seating or standing on the buses.
Main Street Station will also reopen, with several routes staging there again. Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7A, 7B and 9 will stage at Main Street Station.
Route 9 will resume its regular schedule, 15-minute frequency during peak a.m. and p.m. times, and 30-minute frequency during non-peak times, according to the release.
Riders are encouraged to buy their fares online by downloading the Valley Connect app and activating the pass before boarding. Riders then present the activated pass to the driver.
A single-ride adult fare is $1.50 for local service and $4.50 for universal service. A one-day pass is $2.50 for local service and $7.50 for universal service. Children, those with disabilities, and those with a Medicare card pay half of the normal fare. A one-way ride on ACCESS paratransit is $3.00.
Valley Regional Transit asks people not to ride if they are sick and to sit as far apart from other riders as possible. Riders are encouraged to wear a face covering.
Bus operators and operations staff will be wiping down the inside of buses between trips when possible, the release says. Every in-service bus is cleaned and disinfected nightly.
