Middleton (670 KBOI News) – A movement to recall two of the members of the Middleton School Board has gathered the required number of signature to get the question in front of voters, possibly as early as August.
CBS-2 TV is reporting the effort is trying to recall Zone 1 Representative Aleisha McConkie, Zone 3 Representative Tim Winkle, and Zone 2 Representative Kirk Adams, though he hasn’t been on the board long enough to be recalled.
Zone 4 Representative Marianne Blackwell was not on the petition.
The effort began after the Board’s 3-1 vote to not renew the contract of Middleton High School principal Ben Merrill, which prompted a very strong public backlash.
But recall organizer David Morgan told CBS-2 that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, and it’s time fore new leadership.
