Nampa Fire Department to Hold 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony

Nampa (670 KBOI News) –  It’s been 17 years since hijacked jets crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

In Nampa, the Fire Department has not forgotten.

They’re holding a remembrance ceremony at 8:00 Tuesday morning to honor the first responders who gave their lives to try to save people.

The ceremony will feature a flag raising by the Nampa PD and Fire Department honor guard, during which Taps will be played. Afterward, Amazing Grace will be played on the bagpipes.

There will also be a Ringing of the Last Alarm, a fire department tradition to honor those who have made the ultimate ceremony.

It’ll be at Fire Station #1, at 1st Street South and 10th Avenue South.  The Fire Department asks that you get there a few minutes early, because the ceremony will begin promptly at 8:00.
