Here’s an update on the wildfires burning throughout Idaho.
(Soda Fire)
The Soda Fire: Governor Butch Otter issued a disaster declaration for Owyhee County on Saturday. That’s due to the Soda Fire. The Bureau of Land Management says the Soda Fire in Owyhee County has scorched more than 283,000 acres and is 70% contained. It is currently the largest wildfire in the nation. Fire officials say although temperatures are cooler, winds are worse than they have been. They say Monday and Tuesday will be very windy (25 mph) which could cause the fire to grow and bring more smoke into the Treasure Valley. The Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Orange Air Quality alert for Ada County, Canyon County, Payette County, and other counties.
