Fathers Day 2015 will come and go this weekend, and sadly I will not be able to see my Dad on Sunday.
My “Old Man” is in Northern California running his RV around Duncans Mills and the Russian River near Bodega Bay. Thankfully, my brothers both live near home (Rocklin, CA) and will be able to help him celebrate Fathers Day on Sunday.
I’ll take a moment here to say THANKS to my Dad, who I consider the most important man in my life and upbringing.
He worked as a Heavy Equipment Opperator all his life and believed in Working Hard each day. This is something I have tried to emulate, but from a cozy studio behind a microphone. Of all the things my Dad tought me, I can tell you the two I appreciate the most are HONESTY and RESPONSIBILITY. You put both those things together and mix ’em up and I think you come away with INTEGRITY.
Here is something else I can thank my Dad for. He married my Mother over 50 years ago, they had three boys and figuered out how to make that work too. Yes, Mom gets credit too!
Now, I have four children and am trying to live up to the standard my Dad set. Maybe I’ll be better in some areas, but I know I’m not as good in others. It’s a hard job, and it’s made me appreciate all the sacrifices my Parents made for me.
Thanks, Dad! Happy Fathers Day.
