The Bureau of Land Management expects to have a fire near Givens Hot Springs contained this evening. It has reportedly burned around 500 acres off Highway 78.
Early on, homes were threatened and an evacuation was ordered. But a BLM spokesman says the threat appears to have been eliminated.
A number of units responded to the fire, including two helicopters, a single-engine air tanker, a couple of dozers, and more than 60 personnel.
Meanwhile, the BLM expects to have the Celebration fire controlled tonight. It started over the weekend, and has burned an estimated 6,900 acres.
