Dog owners love two pet names — helping them hold onto their status as the most popular in the United States.
The Idaho Statesman reports that according to results published Tuesday, Dec. 3, Charlie ranks No. 1 for male dogs while Luna is the favorite for female pups.
Charlie clinched “the top spot for the second year in a row after dethroning longtime frontrunner, Max, in 2023.”
According to the pet resource website Rover.com, “Luna remains the number one most popular name for female dogs and cats for the second consecutive year.”

To create the list, Rover said it examined millions of pet names that owners shared online.
