Short pursuit through Caldwell Friday

Caldwell Police Officers arrested a parolee on Friday night after a short pursuit through Caldwell.

CBS2 reports that according to Caldwell Police, officers attempted to pull over 29-year-old Wyatt Tripp for having illegal window tint on his Chevy Camaro near Illinois Avenue and Beech Street.

Tripp sped off hitting speeds of 50 miles per hour in city limits, Tripp also shut off his headlights to try and evade officers.

Police say the pursuit ended a short time later when an innocent driver collided with Tripp near Spruce Street and Illinois Avenue due to the lack of headlights.

Tripp then fled on foot into a nearby yard where police were able to arrest him.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

Wyatt Tripp was on active felony parole for eluding police and grand theft.

He was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail for Leaving the Scene of an injury accident, destroying evidence, resisting and obstructing officers, paraphernalia with the intent to use, and eluding causing damage/injury.
