Teenage drunk driver crashes many times before arrest

Caldwell Police Department officers were dispatched to a store in the 500 block of East Ustick Road for a report of an intoxicated male on Wednesday at 9 p.m.

CBS2 reports the male, later identified as 18-year-old Landon Salazar, exited his vehicle, urinated in public and briefly entered the store before getting back into his truck.

Instead of reversing, Salazar put his truck into drive and nearly hit the building.

Salazar then backed into the reporting party’s vehicle, when officers arrived at the scene and witnessed Salazar exiting the parking lot.

Officers attempted to stop Salazar as he fled eastbound on Ustick Road.

The pursuit stopped when Salazar crashed into another motorist at the Ustick Road and South Avenue intersection.

Salazar exited his truck and attempted to run, but officers apprehended him without incident.

He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and felony eluding.

No one was injured during Salazar’s multiple collisions, and this incident remains under investigation.
