Resurfacing State Highway 55 continues

The Idaho Transportation Department will resurface State Highway 55 through Horseshoe Bend.

ITD says they are extending their rehabilitation project on Highway 55 through Horseshoe Bend.

They had originally planned to do this stretch in three years but finished the current project earlier and decided to extend their work zone while they are in the area.

ITD says that the project is expected to last two weeks depending on the weather and drivers can expect road work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., with traffic possibly reduced to a single lane with flaggers and a pilot car assisting with traffic management.

There will be some daytime work to mark the pavement and adjust manholes.

Drivers can also expect a reduced speed limit through the construction zone.

ITD would like to remind drivers to check their routes by using Idaho511 before heading up Highway 55 due to multiple ongoing projects.
