Iron Man race returns to Boise

After a 10 year hiatus, one of the world’s most popular triathlons is returning to Boise, and is expected to bring in millions to the local economy each year of the event.

Ironman has announced that Boise will host the 70.3 version of the race for the next three years.

The 70.3 mile race is half the distance of the traditional Ironman.

BoiseDev.com reports, according to Visit Boise Communications Manager Nollie Haws, the new agreement is a three-year contract running from 2025, 26 and 27.

Visit Boise is anticipating the event will bring in approximately $3.5 million to the local economy each year of the event, but they say that estimate is a very conservative number, due to the fact the city hasn’t hosted the race in 10 years.

The Boise event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Registration will open this coming Monday, September 16.
