A man is in custody after a woman was found shot to death Thursday night.
Rexburg police officers were called to a report of shots being fired on Lilac Street in the Mill Hollow neighborhood around 11:15 p.m.
EastIdahoNews.com reports that when officers arrived, they found a woman had been shot multiple times.
Immediate life-saving measures were administered by responding officers and emergency medical personnel, despite these efforts, the female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A man was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Madison County Jail.
The identities of those involved have not been released but police say this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
