Idahoans can weigh in this month on a strategic plan under development for mental health care in Idaho.
The Idaho Capital Sun reports the Idaho Behavioral Health Council is seeking public input on its 2024-2028 strategic action plan.
Members of the public can weigh in by writing to the council, or they can attend in-person or virtual forums planned in August in Bonneville, Kootenai and Canyon counties.
At a Sept. 13 public meeting, the council will vote on which of 51 recommendations from its advisory board will be incorporated into its final plan. Those recommendations range from addressing Idaho’s behavioral health workforce shortage, to efforts to prevent, treat and help people recover from behavioral health conditions.
Emailed comments to the council are due Sept. 3, and should be sent to [email protected].
