Teenage driver killed has been identified

The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the Boise teenager who died in a car accident Friday.

The Coroner’s Office said in a news release, Ethan Lamers, who was 17, died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise from blunt force injuries around 7:40 a.m. Friday.

The Idaho Statesman reports Lamers and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to the hospital after Lamers lost control of his Audi S3 on a curve and the vehicle rolled over near the 7700 block of Cartwright Road, just after midnight Friday.

When deputies received the call about the crash, they were told that both of the teenagers had been removed from the car and the vehicle was on fire.

The Sheriff’s Office said alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction unit.
