Boise apartment building caught fire Monday

A fire forced several people from their Boise apartment.

Flames started coming from the three-story apartment on the 320 Block of North Allumbaugh Street at 12:45 PM on Monday.

Boise Fire says Engine 6 arrived first on the scene and saw smoke and flames coming from the second and third floors of the building.

CBS2 reports firefighters rescued a dog from a second story unit and reunited it with its owner.

The dog is expected to be okay.

No one was inside the three apartments that have extensive fire and smoke damage.

The Local 149 Burnout Fund, TIPS, and the Red Cross are assisting people with their immediate needs.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
