The opening round of the Albertsons’ Boise Open begins Thursday morning.
But even before the first tee shot, it’s already a success.
The tournament raised three million dollars for local charities. Tournament organizer Jeff Sanders says it’s the biggest ever.
The Albertsons’ Boise Open is basically a qualifier for next year’s PGA Tour. It’s one of three finals events with a winning prize of one million dollars.
The top 25 earners at the end of the Korn Ferry Tour move up to the PGA Tour next season.
Tickets for the championship round on Sunday are still available for ten dollars.
