In-N-Out officially applies for permit to build restaurant at The Village in Meridian

Well, it’s not officially, official. But it’s getting closer!

The City of Meridian on Tuesday confirmed with CBS2 that In-N-Out has officially filed a permit to build a restaurant at 3520 E. Fairview Avenue at The Village in Meridian. Boise Dev was first to report the double-double news.

Last November, the burger chain told CBS2 that it had identified several locations for its first restaurant in Idaho.

“While we are still in the early planning stages, we have identified several targeted intersections in and around the greater Boise trade area,” said Mike Abbate, In-N-Out’s assistant vice president for real estate and development. “We are currently negotiating with a few property owners within those trade areas, in hopes of moving ahead with formal site development applications within the respective municipalities, thereafter.”

City officials say in addition to filing for a permit, In-N-Out has requested approval for zoning compliance and design review.

The site for the burger chain would be a whopper (pun intended) of a location — as Fairview and Eagle Road is one of the busiest intersections in the state and lines of vehicles at new In-N-Out restaurants have stretched for miles and folks have waited up to 14 hours to make an order.
