Caldwell Schools votes to require masks for students and staff

The Caldwell School District board of trustees has voted to require students and staff to wear masks until at least Valentine’s Day.

The board voted to make the move Monday night.

Officials say superintendent Dr. N. Shalene French will have the authority to lift the mask requirement if student and staff absences steadily decrease. The board will take up the issue once again Feb. 14.

“The Board will continue to review weekly COVID-19 data and information to see if any other action needs to be taken,” the district said. “The goal of the district is to keep school open and students attending every day.’
