Today (Monday), the longest legislative session in Idaho history will be extended by at least another day as lawmakers return from a six-month recess.
Speaker of the House Scott Bedke said that since there were not enough votes to sine die as per usual, there was a resolution passed that bound the house to come back in and close the books by the end of the year.
CBS2 reports the plan is to discuss President Biden’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate for federal employees and address an ethics complaint against Rep. Priscilla Giddings.
With next year’s legislative session just around the corner, Democrats say that coming back is a waste of taxpayers’ money.
Leadership hopes that the sessions will go no longer than three days.
