Centennial High School in the West Ada School District went into a lockdown mode late Wednesday morning.
The problem is – It shouldn’t have.
District officials in a letter to parents that went out on Wednesday say the lockdown started at 11:23 a.m. and 12 minutes later Boise Police determined there was no threat at the school and operations resumed.
According to the District, the lockdown was inadvertently initiated and they are working to ensure it does not happen again.
They also said in the release, they understand that in light of the recent tragedy at the Boise Towne Square Mall that the community is on heightened alert and that the news of a lockdown was very upsetting.
