The Red Cross blood supplies in Idaho are at their lowest in six years.
The Red Cross said it needs 10,000 additional blood products each week to meet the needs of patients. They especially need type O blood.
CBS2 reports that in order to help boost supply, the Red Cross is offering one $5 gift card to everyone who donates in October, and two gift cards for people who donate between now and Oct. 31.
These donations serve to help a variety of patients, including people with cancer and people who undergo major surgeries.
