Idaho Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin issued a new executive order on “vaccine passports” on Tuesday.
McGeachin announced that all state agencies, including public K-12 schools and universities, would be prohibited from requiring proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or requiring mandatory testing for people to access services.
McGeachin said in a tweet the order fixes the ban on vaccine passports Governor Little implemented earlier this year, by broadening it to include a ban on mandatory testing for COVID-19.
Little’s original order had encompassed all state facilities, but not K-12 public schools, and did not mention testing.
Governor Brad Little did make a statement on Twitter, saying he will be rescinding the order when he returns to Idaho. The Governor is in Texas touring the southern border with other Republicans.
