Connie Smith, the Emmett grandmother accused of failing to notify police of her granddaughter’s death, made a court appearance on Tuesday in Gem County.
Judge Tyler Smith determined the burden of proof in the prosecutor’s case had been made and the case will move forward in district court.
CBS2 reports that in addition to the failure to notify charge, she’s also charged with felony concealment of evidence.
Smith is the grandmother of 8-year-old Taryn Summers, whose remains were found on Smith’s property inside a trash bag on April 14.
She’s scheduled to be arraigned in court on Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.
Her bond remains at $800,000.
