Bootleg fire grows to over 201,000 acres in Southern Oregon

The Bootleg Fire burning in Southern Oregon has grown again to 201,000 acres. That’s the fire that continues to blow smoke into the Treasure Valley.

In less than one week, the fire has burned an area larger than Portland, Eugene and Salem combined.

Fire officials say strong winds were the main reason behind the fire’s growth.

The fire is threatening nearly 2,000 homes and remains 0% contained.

There are no reports of fatalities. There’s no word yet on what sparked the wildfire.
