Another excessive heat warning for Southern Idaho from the National Weather Service

More triple-digit temperatures are expected this week. We are actually in the middle of another excessive heat warning from the National Weather Service, lasting thru tonight at 9pm.

The recent heat wave in Oregon and Washington State killed nearly 200 people. Fortunately the Treasure Valley has only 1 heat related death, but health workers continue to get calls about people who are overheating.

Temperatures should reach just over 100 degrees through Wednesday, with a chance we could cool off into the upper 90s by the end of the week.

During the excessive heat warning it is recommended you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
