When grizzly bears around Yellowstone come anywhere near a roadway, crowds form. The mob of tourists create what rangers call – “a bear jam” inside the park.
Recently two Grizzlies were spotted in the park, and a park ranger had to force the crowd to back off. Unfortunately, the Bear charged the crowd
The Ranger was forced to haze the bear back into the forest by shooting “bean bag rounds, rubber bullets and cracker shells.
Yellowstone Superintendent Cam Sholly says the Ranger probably saved lives by taking quick action.
Sholly says they have already had too many close encounters between visitors and bears this year – because people don’t keep they’re distance…and want to get up close to take pictures.
