CBS2 reports Monday marked the start of the 100 Deadliest Days in Idaho.
The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day that typically sees a dramatic increase in fatal car crashes.
The dangerous time period started early for 2021 with a grim statistic. According to ITD, 12 people have lost their lives on Idaho roads since Friday, May 28.
The most devastating crash so far happened near Marsing on Saturday. A car carrying four people from California collided with a pickup along Highway 95.
All four people, ages ranging from 16-26, died. All three people in the pickup will recover from their injuries, according to Idaho State Police.
The latest crash claimed the lives of two Oregon men on Tuesday when ISP said their vehicle crossed the center line of Highway 20 near Fairfield. Both men were killed after colliding with a pickup. A third Oregon man was air-lifted to Saint Alphonsus in Boise.
