Ada County Elections reports delay mailing ballots for Idaho’s Primary

Due to processing constraints, Ada County Elections is reporting a delay in the mailing of ballots for Idaho’s Primary.

Mailing of absentee ballots for the May 19 election will not resume until Tuesday. As a result, voters will likely see a longer wait between the time that they submitted a ballot request and when they can expect to receive a ballot in the mail.

In the meantime, Ada County Elections says they will continue to prepare ballots as requests are submitted.

Ada County Elections tells CBS 2 News, they have received a extraordinary number of ballot requests for the all-mail primary election.

Ballots were mailed beginning April 13 and in order to meet the steep increase, election officials have shifted their resources.

Voters are asked to wait until May 1 for a ballot to arrive before contacting the Ada County Elections office.
