Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Boise School District has accomplished something that only about .5% of all schools districts in the nation have been able to do…achieve a AAA bond rating.
Spokesman Dan Hollar says Moody has elevated the district’s rating from AA-Plus to AAA, which is good news for taxpayers.
“Really what it means is we can now qualify for interest rates that are beneficial to our taxpayers,” said Hollar. “That basically means that with those better rates, that we are saving taxpayers about $350,000, and that is certainly something we are proud about.”
Hollar says the district’s staff and faculty have worked hard to earn the rating, which they accomplished through being good managers of school funds.
He says the 2017 bond funding is currently being used in 22 capital projects, and a number of renovation projects.
