Boise (670 KBOI News) – Two thing Idahoans will decide on November 6th are who will the next governor be, and will the state expand Medicaid to cover the 50-60,000 Idahoans who make too much to qualify, but not enough to afford insurance.
Lieutenant Governor Brad Little, the Republican candidate for governor, told 670 KBOI’s Nate Shelman he’ll support whatever the people decide on Medicaid, but he’d rather people didn’t need it.
“We don’t disagree about having a safety net, but what size of a safety net, and then what are the incentives for people to get out of it?” asked Little. “My default position is we need a safety net, but we need a pathway to where people aren’t stuck in that safety net, and have an opportunity to get out of it.”
Little also said he’s excited about the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, and what it could means for Idaho agriculture.
