Feds Raid Ada Co. Homes and Businesses; 10 People Scheduled for Arraignment in US District Court Tomorrow

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Details are scarce, but a press conference is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at the US Attorney’s Office about the federal law enforcement sweep in West Ada County this morning.

10 people are scheduled to be arraigned in US District Court tomorrow, on multiple felony fraud charges.

Today, agents of the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other agencies conducted raids at homes and businesses in West Ada County.

The Idaho Press is reporting those homes and businesses are owned by Pavel and Genady Babichenko, who may be natives of the former Soviet state of Georgia, which is now an independent country. They and four other people with the same last name are on the list of defendants.

A commercial warehouse at 12586 Bridger Street, near the West Family YMCA and the Boise Aquatics Center was the scene of activity by the Boise Police Department, which had set up a mobile command post. The Statesman reports officials were seen going in and out of the building, wearing gloves.

14 businesses use the same Bridger Street address, including one called Babichenko LLC.
