By now, you probably know my wife and son are both battling different forms of cancer.
For those who don’t know: My wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January while my 13 year old son was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in May.
I need to take a moment to thank some people in our lives who are going above and beyond to help take care of us. On October 19th, my son’s school is hosting a “staff vs students” basketball game as a fundraiser for my family. Some teachers and families have donated raffle items, and the school had t-shirts made up for students to purchase with proceeds all going to the Worthington Family Healing Fund. (Everyone is welcome to attend, by the way.)
Accepting help is hard. At least it is for me. To have somebody make such a fuss to help my family and I is so very touching, that I find it difficult to put it into words.
We really do live in a fantastic place and are surrounded by good and caring people.
My heart is filled with gratitude and love for those who are helping and to those from the school who are coming out to support my son. Thank you all.
