Rosauers Plans to Close Meridian Store

Rosauers Supermarkets will close its Meridian store on the corner of Eagle Road and Ustick at the close of business on Dec. 2.

A clearance sale will begin Oct. 11. The store will transfer its pharmacy files to Albertsons on Oct. 17.

Store officials announced the closure at an employee meeting on Sunday.

The Idaho Statesman reports, the Spokane company says it was not able to “create the right formula for success in Meridian.”

Between 50 and 60 employees work at the Meridian store. Company representatives are in the Treasure Valley now, trying to place employees in new jobs. The company said it will offer severance packages to those who qualify.

Rosauers Supermarkets operates 22 stores in a four-state region that includes Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
