Random Thoughts of a News and Sports Junkie: 1/31/17

You don’t know if I am a Republican or a Democrat, or something else, and that is the way I like it.

As a person who is responsible for reading and writing news, it is important to stay neutral in political arguments.  Incase you have not been paying attention, there are plenty of very big political fights happening right now.  While we (journalists) do not take sides in the fight, it’s still our job to tell you what others are saying and what is happening.  For clarification, telling you what the president says or what a democrat says does not mean we are pushing that persons agenda.

The 670 KBOI newsroom and it’s staff are here to inform, not pick sides.  If you have concerns about bias, I would like to hear what you have to say.  My email is [email protected].

— The Superbowl is this Sunday.  Patriots vs Falcons.  I’m still a little bitter the Raiders season ended the way it did, but I do intend to watch the game.  I’m just hoping the game is close, and the food at the Super Bowl party includes a decent meat dish of some kind and good salsa.

— I won a Playstation 4 in the “Fat Guys Fresh Deli” Fantasy Football League.  Not kidding.  My boys think I am the coolest Dad ever, and they are correct.

— Movie reviews are not my strong suit, so I rarely give them, but in light of all the awards given already to La La Land, I can’t resist.  My wife and I had a date night and took in the film. I don’t mind the occasional musical, and my wife adores them, but neither of us were all that impressed.  We found the music forgettable, the dancing just OK and the ending not really to our liking.  FYI: I would have rather gone to see Rogue One again, but was overruled.
