Every 4 years, Presidential elections stir the country. They serve as a reflection point. They bring out the best and the worst in all of us.
Those who are interested try to look ahead and see what issues await us. Names are called. Feelings are hurt. Families and friends may go for days at a time without speaking.
Then we vote.
Someone wins, someone loses. Some cheer, come cry.
Then, nothing happens. Then “We the People” realize that it’s not the president that guides the country, it’s us. We do. Through our action or inaction, we guide this nation. WE are greater than any ONE president, congressman or senator.
Citizenship requires more action than 15 minutes twice a year to vote. It is an ongoing diligent action.
